Katy Perry (born as Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) is an upcoming singer-songwriter that loves to do things her own way. Best known for her hit songs “Ur so Gay” and “I kissed a Girl” , it is quite clear that Katy Perry loves to against the grain. Almost ironically Katy Perry is the middle child of two protestant parents and her work actually contradicts and goes against protestant beliefs. Upon questioning Katy Perry identified Queen as her musical influence and it shows through when you enjoy her music. Katy Perry only changed her surname because Katy Hudson was too similar to Kate Hudson and Perry being her mother’s maiden name, it fit the bill quite well.  Despite accusations of homophobia and being derogatory towards the gay community Katy Perry is an excellent musician and continues to produce wonderful work.
